Jimmie Johnson dominates Martinsville for his eighth win at the track

Leading 346 of 500 laps in Sunday's STP Gas Booster 500 at Martinsville Speedway, Jimmie Johnson racked up his eighth NASCAR Sprint Cup Series win at the .526-mile short track and the 62nd win of his career. For the second straight event at Martinsville, Johnson won from the pole.

Late pass gives Johnny Sauter victory at Martinsville

Johnny Sauter won the season opener at Daytona, and after a break of 43 days, won the second race of the season at the .526-mile short track. Sauter won for the eighth time in the Truck series and posted his first back-to-back victories. It was only the second time in series history that a driver has opened the season with back-to-back wins; the first was 2006 by Mark Martin.

NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Finally Back In Action Friday At Martinsville Speedway

The Sprint Cup cars have been silent for the Easter break, and the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series has been idle for five weeks. That changes at 9 a.m. Friday when the track goes green for the first practice session of the weekend.

Denny Hamlin wins Martinsville Truck race with late pass

Denny Hamlin, who started from the rear because he missed the drivers' meeting —- thanks to a conflict with Sprint Cup practice — finished 1.932 seconds ahead of Nelson Piquet Jr., who bulled his way into the runner-up position after restarting fourth on Lap 193 of 200. Joey Coulter ran third, followed by Matt Crafton and Scott Riggs.
