Cougar Crest Estate Winery formally opens its Spokane satellite taste room

Walla Walla winemakers Debbie and David Hansen opened their Cougar Crest Estate Winery tasting room in downtown Spokane Friday.

Spokane is the Hansens’ second satellite tasting room; their first satellite tasting room opened in June in Woodinville.

Cougar Crest has been growing grapes on 50 acres in Walla Walla for the past seven years. The Spokane tasting room moved into 1,400 square feet at 8 N. Post, in the Peyton Building. The Hansens remodeled the space last used as a downtown store for Simply Northwest.

It will be open seven days a week, said Debbie Hansen.

“We decided to open tasting rooms based on our wine club memberships and where our orders are coming from. So that meant on the west side and in Spokane,” she added.

Samuel Crosby will be Spokane’s room manager.
