Tonight: Free programs feature wilderness, exploring

PROGRAMS -- The Spokane Mountaineers are featuring two programs tonight featuring some excellent outdoor photography.

  • Tim Coleman of Conservation Northwest will discuss the Columbia Highlands Initiative and proposals for wilderness areas in the Okanogan and Colville National Forests.
  • Jon Jantz of WILDLIGHT Photography, a Washington climber, traveler, explorer of wild places & all around dirt-bag, presents To The Hills, a series of forays into the BC Coast Range eventually leading to the construction of one of the first trails to access the alpine in the Mount Waddington Region.

The programs will be presented starting at 7 p.m. at Mountain Gear Corporate Headquarters, 6021 E. Mansfield.

Directions: Near Felts Field, go North on Fancher from Trent and turn right on Mansfield just before the tracks.
