Pre-teen perk: 5th, 6th graders can ski free

WINTER SPORTS -- If you have a fifth or sixth grader in the family, take advantage of the free skiing programs offered at many of the region's resorts to encourage youngsters to check out the sports of skiing and snowboarding.

The 5th grade ski FREE passport  gives these prime learning-age kids free lift tickets at more than 20 Inland Northwest resorts.

Idaho resorts offer the perk to 5th and 6th graders.

The passport includes free lift tickets as well as special deals on equipment rentals, lessons and other activities. Some ski areas even offer specials for parents or siblings.

If you have a 5thor 6thgrade student, there’s still plenty of time to apply on-line for their 5thand 6thgrade Ski or Ride Free Passport. The Passport allows those 5thand 6thgrade students that apply, a chance to go skiing for free at participating Washington and Ski Idaho Resorts!

The 5thand 6thGrade Ski or Ride Free Passport program allows students in 5th& 6thgrades to sign up for the program and receive 3 FREE lift tickets at each participating ski area for 5thgraders or 2 FREE lift tickets for 6thgraders at each participating ski area. 

Click here to complete the on-line application or download the printable version, pay the $20 processing fee (receive a $5 off promo code at www.idsaves.org/passport) and your student will be mailed his or her own “Ski or Ride Free Passport” booklet. Thepassport also includes special deals on equipment rentals, lessons and some ski areas even offer specials for parents or siblings! Applications are being accepted until March 5.

The 5th Grade Passport is accepted at the following  Ski Areas:
 

  • IDAHO: Bald Mountain, Bogus Basin, Brundage, Cottonwood Butte, Grand Targhee, Kelly Canyon, Little Ski Hill, Lookout Pass, Lost Trail, Magic Mountain, Pebble Creek, Pomerelle, Schweitzer Mountain, Silver Mountain, Snowhaven, Soldier Mountain, Sun Valley. *includes Dollar Mt - upgrade to Bald Mountain for $20/day and Tamarack.
  • WASHINGTON: 49 Degrees North, Bluewood, Mission Ridge, Mt. Spokane, Loup Loup


The 6th Grade Passport is accepted at the following Ski Areas:
