TRAILS -- The Spokane River Cleanup is likely to attract hundreds of volunteers to pick up trash from 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday and relieve the stream that flows through our city from tons of trash.

Evergreen East, a mountain-biking organization, is taking the occasion to a higher level by focusing their cleanup at the Camp Sekani area near Upriver Dam starting at 9 a.m.

The mountain bikers will followed their cleanup with mini-classes in mountain biking techniques from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m., a beer garden from 2 p.m.-6 p.m. and then a State of the Trails meeting at 5 p.m. to give and receive feedback on trail development at Beacon Hill.

On Sunday, certified coaches with Evergreen East will teach a Fundamentals of Mountain Biking class,10 a.m.-2 p.m. at Camp Sekani.  Sign up here.
