CLIMBING – Two rock climbing standouts will be featured in a free evening of entertainment Monday night at Mountain Gear, 2002 N. Division in Spokane:

  • Cedar Wright, climber and filmmaker for the “Sufferfest” series, will be available for a meet and greet, 5 p.m.-6:30 p.m. Wright will be in town for a Tuesday National Geographic Live show at the INB Performing Arts Center. Mountain Gear is selling discount tickets to that show.
  •  Blake Herrington, climber and author of “Cascades Rock: A New Guidebook,” will present a slide program starting at 7 p.m., sponsored by the Spokane Mountaineers. More than three years in the making, the 272-page book includes photos and topos covering 160 multi-pitch routes of every grade, classics to obscure lines from Washington state to southern British Columbia.
