Nordic skiing, skating tracks set at Avondale Golf Course

WINTERSPORTS -- Cross-country skiing trails have been groomed at Hayden Lake today by the Panhandle Nordic Club to take advantage of low-level snow.

"Avondale Golf Course was groomed this morning for track and skate skiing," reports Geoff Harvey, who heads up the club grooming program.

"The snowfall coming this evening and tomorrow may obliterate this effort, but at least we added to the packed surface.

"We may be able to re-groom on or before the weekend.

"We hope to groom and set track at Fourth of July later this week after this fresh batch of snow accumulates."
