Youth Outdoors Unlimited to hold first fundraiser in Spokane

HUNTING/FISHING -- Youth Outdoors Unlimited, the Washington nonprofit that incorporates volunteers and hunting and fishing trips to boost the spirits of seriously ill young people, will hold a fundraising banquet and auction on April 8 in Spokane.

This is the first auction the central-Washington-based group has set in Spokane, although many families have from this area have taken advantage of the services. A team of family and volunteers assembled by YOU assisted in a moose hunt with Spokane Valley football star Jace Malek before he died at the age of 18.

"Since the beginning of Youth Outdoors in 2011, over 15 of our youth have been from the Spokane area and more children each year are from this area," said Cindy Carpenter, YOU executive director.

Our auction is Saturday, April 8, at the Hotel RL by Red Lion Spokane at the Park, 303 W. North River Dr. in Spokane.

"We are looking for people who want to attend this event, corporate sponsors, donated auction items and raffle sponsors," she said.  

"Along with our Live and Silent Auction this event features a great bucket raffle section and firearm raffle games.  Two youth from the 2016 hunting and fishing season that will be presented their taxidermy at this banquet. 

"This is one of the things that makes our fundraisers so unique.  We will share about the exciting year that our Youth Outdoors kids had, watch them see their taxidermy for the first time.  This is where our supporters money goes."
