Mountain bikers kick off season with survey and ‘Klunkerz’ film

CYCLING – The Evergreen East mountain bike alliance is asking cyclists to compete an online survey to help members connect with local riders and learn how they can better serve the riding community.

The club also is co-sponsoring the premier of "Klunkerz," a film about mountain biking history at 6:30 p.m. on Friday, March 3, at Two Wheel Transit,  817 S. Perry St. Tickets, $15, are available at the Two Wheel Transit or online at thebikehub.com.

Evergreen East has been stewarding the trail networks at Camp Sekani/Beacon Hill and working on further development of trails at Mount Spokane State Park with support for areas like the South Hill Bluff, Iller Creek, and Riverside State Park, says spokesman Cj Hoffman.

The nonprofit groups is a chapter of Evergreen Mountain Bike Alliance with board members, instructors and volunteers who have come together to share their passion for mountain biking.

"Last year more than 3,000 hours of trail work and maintenance were performed by Evergreen East members and volunteers," Hoffman said.
