FISHING -- A fishing bonanza is swimming the shores of Lake Rufus Woods, where the Colville Tribe's hatchery workers released 12,900 triploid rainbow trout on Tuesday, Feb. 28.

Rufus  Woods is the Columbia River reservoir between Chief Joseph and Grand Coulee dams.

The fish averaged nearly 2 pounds each. They can be identified by the absence of an adipose fin.

About 20 percent of the fish were implanted with a plastic anchor tag.  Anglers who catch tagged fish are encouraged to report the number to the tribe's Fish and Wildlife Program.  The report can be made online at cctfwfishtags.com/report-a-tag
