Car-seat conundrum

A reader wrote the following in reaction to our story on Friday about improperly adjusted car restraints for children:

After reading your article titled "Study: most parents securing kids but doing it wrong." I attempted to find a local public agency which offered car seat inspections so that I could have mine double checked. I contacted the Spokane Valley Fire Department, Police Department and the Shriner's Hospital. I was never able to speak with someone who could assist me. While I still plan to contact the Spokane County Sheriffs Dept. and the City of Spokane, when you run an article such as this, that indicates that someone may be prosecuted for something such as this, it may be helpful to offer a list of resources for those who wish to be proactive.

This article, referenced in the newspaper story, offers some helpful tips, as does this online tutorial.

But is anyone aware of local resources for parents concerned about properly-adjusted seats?
