Are We There Yet?

Being Seven and lying

Our seven year old (nearly eight) has told two lies to us in the past couple of months. They haven't been significant or important ones, and as he's a terrible liar they were pretty easy to catch. We've done the talk about how the lie is worse than whatever transgression was made, but I'm not sure we've gotten the point across. It seems to me that lying is a part of growing up so I'm not overly concerned about these lies, but I would really like ideas on effective ways other parents have helped their children learn to tell the truth, even when it's uncomfortable and/or one knows one will get in trouble.

This blog is intended to provide a forum for parents to share knowledge and resources. It's a place for parents young and old to combine their experiences raising families into a collective whole to help others.
