Are We There Yet?

What else should we talk about?

I’m really not a bossy person. But by looking at the posts on this blog, you might conclude that I tend to dominate conversations. Although I moderate this blog, please know that I would love it if others started posting threads of their own.

Is there anyone out there who would be interested in iniating some of the conversations? There are several people on the Parents’ Council who already do and I would encourage you to keep posting as often as you’d like. I’d also love to hear from new people on a regular basis.

As a mom of young kids, I tend to talk about birth and babies. I’m also personally interested in health, education, the environment and how to live a slower, simpler life. As a result, those are the topics I often blog about. But I know there’s a dearth of issues pertaining to parenting and families that this blog hasn’t touched. Let’s try to do that in the coming weeks.

If you’re interested in starting new discussions on the blog and don’t already have the capability to do so, please let us know by sending an e-mail to me(virginia_de_leon@yahoo.com) or Features editor Ken Paulman (kenp@spokesman.com).

If you’d like me to do some research on a particular issue related to parenting and families, let me know and I’ll do some digging. I'll post what I find out in this blog.

So, to get started, here’s a question: What are the themes that dominate your life as a parent? What are the issues that are especially important to you?

Thanks for reading!
