At about 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, February 3rd, a man entered the GTX Truck Stop at 18723 E. Cataldo and used a counterfeit $100 bill to purchase scratch lottery tickets.  He was described as a white male in his 50’s who had a beard. 

    On the following Thursday, a man entered the Shell convenience store at 13823 E. Broadway and used a counterfeit $100 bill to purchase $50 in scratch lotto tickets.  He was given $50 in change. 

    The employee in the second theft described the suspect as a white man in his 40’s who was about 5’04” tall and balding.  He estimated his weight at about 165 pounds. 

    Officers who examined the counterfeit bills described them as looking very authentic. 
    Security video at one of the businesses captured the suspect’s image.  Anyone with information regarding his identity is encouraged to call Crime Check at 456-2233.  (Spokane County Sheriff's Office)
