2 Valley teens accused of home burglary

Two teenagers were arrested Saturday after a Spokane County sheriff's deputy said he saw them walking away from a burglarized Spokane Valley home.

The boys, ages 16 and 15, were found with two gold rings each that had been stolen from the home in the 2400 block of South Windsor. The 15-year-old had a stun gun; the 16-year-old had a folding knife, according to police.

A deputy spotted the boys after responding to a burglary alarm. The boys said they were hanging out at Central Valley High School, where they are students, and walked to the home and stole the jewelry, then climbed a fence when an alarm sounded, police said.

A girl who lives at the home said she knew the boys and had told them her family would be away that night. The boys were booked in Spokane County Juvenile Detention Center on residential burglary charges.
