Boy, 16, charged as adult in armed robbery
A 16-year-old boy accused of robbing a man at gunpoint in Spokane two weeks ago is to be arraigned on a felony today in Superior Court.
Richard R. Hill is charged as an adult with first-degree robbery for a June 15 hold up at East Desmet Avenue and North Helena Street. Hill and Brandon L. Glore, 22; and Frank R. Marusic, 19; are accused of robbing a man of $72 and an mp3 player.
The robbers fled in a Ford Focus, and the victim got the license plate. Police traced the plate to Brandon's girlfriend, Daisey Mace, who said Glore took the car about 11 p.m. They also find a cell phone in the street near the robbery that belonged to Glore.
Police waited at Glore's home until the Ford pulled up, then arrested Marusic and Glore. The men told police they'd met Hill at a part on Magnesium Road, where they said Hill stole the rifle, according to court documents. They were looking for marijuana when Hill saw the victim walking and suggested they rob him, Marusic told police.
"Marusic said Richie pointed the rifle, which was loaded, at the guy and said, 'Give me your stuff, West Side Crips," according to court documents.
Marusic and Glore each got $20 from the robbery, according to court documents. The men pleaded not guilty to first-degree robbery last week and remain in jail.
Hill is in the Spokane County Juvenile Detention Center.
