A Twisp, Wash., man will spend more than five years in prison for receiving child pornography over the Internet.
Timothy J. Schmekel, 36, was sentenced to 68 months in federal prison today after a investigators found 519 images of child pornography on computers and storage devices at Schmekel’s home in April 2008.
He was indicted in U.S. District Court in August 2008 and convicted by a jury after a three-day trial in Spokane in September 2009.
Schmekel will be supervised for five years once he’s released from prison. He’ll be required to register as a sex offender for the rest of his life.
