Feds: Counterfeiter passed mostly $5 bills

A Spokane man is accused of manufacturing counterfeit money then spending the bills on at least two occasions last summer.

Dudley W. Adcox, 48, was indicted in U.S. District Court on charges that he made fake $5, $10 and $50 bills between June 1 and July 24, then tried passing four bills on July 1 and July 8 in Spokane County. Three were $5 bills, another was a $20, according to court documents.

Adcox was arrested May 13 in Walla Walla.

He's in Spokane County Jail after pleading not guilty to two federal felonies last week of manufacturing counterfeit federal reserve notes and passing counterfeit federal reserve notes. A bail haring set for Tuesday was postponed.

Adcox has previous convictions for delivery of methamphetamine and intimidating a witness in 1997.
