A Spokane man accused of stabbing two people on Saturday has a violent criminal history that includes an animal cruelty conviction for running over a man’s dog as a teenager.
Charles Price Dimit, 24, remains in jail after appearing in Superior Court Monday on first-degree assault and first-degree robbery charges.
He’s accused of attacking his girlfriend, Ashley Patten, with a knife and stealing her purse at their home at 1012 S. Maple St., then stabbing Gabriel Dillon, 32, in the stomach. Only Dillon required hospitalization.
Spokane police arrested Dimit Monday about 12:10 a.m. at his grandmother’s home at 1069 S. Wall St., according to a probable cause affidavit.
Dimit has previous convictions third-degree assault and unlawful imprisonment. He pleaded guilty to first-degree animal cruelty after a jury deadlocked at trial.
