Woman awakes to stranger in home

A man was arrested after a woman awoke to find him in her home early today.

Jeffrey A. Danielson, 21, told the woman's son "What do you mean? I'm not trying to start anything here" after the man confronted him about 2:30 a.m. at a home in the 1000 block of North Progress Road, according to the Spokane County Sheriff's Office.

The man's mother awoke o a noise at her front door. When she got out of bed to get a drink of water, she saw a man later identified as Danielson standing inside by the front door.  The 88-year-old woman screamed for her son, who then confronted Danielson. Danielson left and walked to a neighbor's front yard, the sheriff's office said.

Deputies Nathan Bohanek and Cpl. Brad Gilbert found him there and arrested him after Bohanek spoke to the victims.

Due to Danielson's high level of intoxication Deputy Bohanek chose not to ask him any questions about the incident," according to a news release by Deputy Craig Chamberlin, sheriff's spokesman.

Danielson was booked into jail for residential burglary an no-bail DUI warrant.
