An alleged road rage incident between a driver and motorcyclist Sunday in North Idaho led to the arrest of a 44-year-old Athol man after the biker fire a shot at him.
Keith W. Williams is charged with battery and aggravated assault after a man identified in court documents as Thomas Helton told police he had to fire a small handgun at Williams’ front car tire to stop an attack about 4 p.m.
Witnesses in the area of U.S Highway 95 and Neider Avenue told police that Williams punched Helton in the head as they were stopped at a light, then drove northbound toward Helton and his motorcycle, police said.
Helton fired one round into Williams’ car’s front tire. Williams is charged with aggravated assault for allegedly using his vehicle as a weapon. He’s out of Kootenai County Jail on bond.
Witnesses to the incident are asked to call Coeur d’Alene police at (208) 769-2320.
A Hayden man is accused of shooting at Kootenai County Sheriff’s deputies, then surrendering after they returned fire.
Kerry Noel Damiano, 22, was arrested early Saturday after deputies responded to East Chilco Road near Chilco Lake, north of Hayden, about midnight on a report of trespassers causing a disturbance.
Damiano is accused of firing one shot at the deputies before they returned fire and he surrendered.
Damiano was booked into the Kootenai County Jail on one count of aggravated assault.
He has past convictions in Kootenai County for providing false information to law enforcement regarding offense/identity and driving a vehicle without the owner’s consent, according to news archives.
A 22-year-old Alaska man is accused of pointing a shotgun at a group of people in downtown Coeur d’Alene on Saturday.
Jason H. Fennimore was arrested after the alleged victims told police of the shotgun after an officer stopped the car in which Fennimore was riding for driving the wrong way in the 300 block of North Third Street about 2:30 a.m.
The victims said Fennimore pulled the gun from the trunk at threatened them after he and his friends “said something to the victim group, making the stop,” according to a news release. Police found a double-barrel, 12-gauge shotgun in the trunk.
Fennimore, who appeared on past seasons of the reality TV show “Deadliest Catch,” is in Kootenai County Jail on one count of aggravated assault.
