EDWARDSVILLE, Ill. (AP) — Two Missouri women are accused of showing off more than their putting skills at a southwestern Illinois golf course.
Madison County Sheriff's Capt. T. Mike Dixon says investigators responded to complaints of lewd behavior Monday at the Woodlands Golf Course in Foster Township and saw the women displaying their breasts.
Now, authorities in Madison County have charged 45-year-old Shelly Lewis and 43-year-old Alicia Binford of O'Fallon, Mo., with public indecency.
Binford and Lewis couldn't be reached for comment Tuesday. Binford's home telephone number has been disconnected. Lewis hasn't returned a message left at her home. Court records don't show if they have an attorney.
Both women are free on bond.
A man who wanted to prove to his ex-girlfriend that he wasn't a child molester instead was arrested on a child sex abuse warrant after contacting a Spokane County sheriff's deputy Tuesday in Deer Park.
Jesse A. Smith, 20, apparently did not know of a felony warrant out of Jerome, Idaho, for three counts of lewd conduct with a minor under 16 years old when he contacted sheriff's Deputy Dan Dutton Tuesday about 7:45 p.m.
Dutton was responding to an unrelated domestic situation at a home when Smith knocked on the door and asked to speak to him.
Smith asked Dutton to check his criminal history because his ex-girlfriend sent him a text message accusing him of being a child molester, and he wanted to prove her wrong, according to the Spokane County Sheriff's Office.
Smith said he would wait by Dutton's patrol car until Dutton was finished at the home. Dutton checked Smith's criminal history and confirmed Smith in fact did have a $75,000-bond warrant that essentially accuses him of being a child molester.
He was booked into the Spokane County Jail on the warrant. He remained there this afternoon awaiting transport to southern Idaho.

Film crews traveled with patrol officers five days a week for six weeks last summer. The episode airs at 8 p.m. on the FOX channel.

A 41-year-old Rathdrum man will serve up to life in prison for three counts of lewd conduct with a minor under a sentence imposed Wednesday.
Frank D. Marks will serve at least 30 years before he's eligible for parole, Kootenai County 1st District Judge Benjamin Simpson ordered.
Marks had sexual contact with three juvenile victims over a period of seven years, according to the Kootenai County Prosecutor's Office.
All three testified at his trial. A jury convicted Marks Aug. 12.
Kootenai County Prosecutor Barry McHugh, who tried the case, said the sentence was appropriate given that Marks continues to deny any inappropriate conduct.
“His adamant denials eliminate the possibility of rehabilitation,” McHugh said.
A Coeur d'Alene man will spend five years to life in prison for lewd conduct with a 14-year-old girl, a judge ruled this week.
Nicholas James Ryan, 32, was sentenced Tuesday to life in prison with eligibility for parole after five years. He'll serve the sentence the same time as a sentence for contacting the girl after his arrest despite a court order prohibiting the communication.
Ryan was sentenced by Kootenai County District Judge John Mitchell. He pleaded guilty on Oct. 31. He has three prior felony convictions for drugs, according to the Kootenai County Prosecutor's Office.
In a prepared statement, Prosecutor Barry McHugh praised the work of the Coeur 'Alene Police Department and Deputy Prosecutor Josh Studor.
McHugh said the sentence “was appropriate given the defendant's post-arrest conduct indicating a desire to continue an illegal and immoral relationship, and his efforts to coerce the victim to lie about the relationship.”
A 26-year-old Rathdrum man will spend at last seven years in prison for sexually abusing a minor.
Justin Scott Savage was sentenced Tuesday to 20 years in prison with eligibility for parole after seven for lewd conduct with a minor under 16, sexual abuse of a child under 16 and two counts of injury to jail.
1st District Court Judge Fred Gibler sentenced Savage, who pleaded guilty in September. Savage has previous misdemeanor convictions for theft, drugs and burglary, according to the Kootenai County Prosecutor's Office.
Sheriff's spokesman Major Ben Wolfinger said the injury to jail charges stem from Savage damaging the jail on several occasions.
SALISBURY, Mass. (AP) — A Massachusetts man is facing lewd charges after lifeguards say he refuses to stop shaving himself while nude on a beach.
The Eagle Tribune reports that Christopher Axford was arrested Monday on a beach in Salisbury.
According to a police report, the 45-year-old was shaving his armpits while his shorts were pulled down to his shins when police arrived to the scene.
Axford, who police said is homeless, was charged with lewd, wanton and lascivious conduct, public drinking and disorderly conduct and release on personal recognizance. Less than 12 hours after his release, Axford was arrested again on charges he stole a tip jar from a pizzeria.
He is being held without bail pending a pretrial hearing scheduled for Aug. 31. It was unclear if he had an attorney.
A Post Falls man will spend at least five years in prison for sexually abusing a 16-year-old girl.
Terence William Turner, 39, (pictured) was sentenced Friday to 15 years in prison with eligibility for parole after five years for lewd conduct with a minor. He will receive credit for time served in the Kootenai County Jail, where he has been since his arrest in March.
Turner's previous criminal history includes only misdemeanor traffic offenses. Judge Lansing Haynes cited Turner's “use of violence” during the abuse when he sentenced Turner, according to the Kootenai County Prosecutor's Office.
Prosecutor Barry McHugh praised the Post Falls Police Department and Deputy Prosecutor Art Verharen.
McHugh said the sentence was “appropriate given the long-term nature of this unconscionable conduct, the lack of accountability by this defendant, and the continuing risk of predatory conduct by the defendant.”
A Post Falls sex offender will spend 15 year to life in prison after being convicted of his third sex crimes case since 1990.
