Felon hides from Police inside car trunk

A felon wanted on multiple Idaho warrants hid in the trunk of a car during a traffic stop hoping to hide from police last week.

Sheriff’s deputies say they saw 27-year-old Justin R. Brown get into a car as a passenger just after midnight on Friday and knew North Idaho Violent Crimes Task Force was looking for Brown in the area of Third Avenue and Freya Street, said a news release.

A multi-agency response brought officers from Spokane Police along to pull over the vehicle near Sprague Avenue and Havana Street.

But Brown was missing from the vehicle when they looked inside and it was determined he had crawled into the trunk of the modern Chevy Impala through the back seat prior to the stop. Police believe Brown was holding the trunk closed because the trunk switch did not work.

Brown eventually got out of the trunk after several audible orders were given by police including the warning that they’d use a Spokane Police K-9 unit to get him out.

Deputies took Brown into custody on felony fugitive charges and he was extradited to Kootenai County Jail where he faces multiple offenses with over $160,000 in bail.

Man accused of sex abuse in North Idaho

A Spokane man is wanted in North Idaho for allegedly sexually abusing a child.

Chad Andrew Radden, 21, is being sought on a $40,000 warrant in Kootenai County for sexual abuse of a minor under 16, as well as a probation violation warrant in Washington.

Radden has felony convictions in Spokane County for property crimes and is awaiting trial on a car theft charge that he was arrested on in December.

Radden was arrested in October 2010 for an alleged car-prowling and window-breaking spree in Spokane Valley.

Anyone who knows where Radden, 6-foot-1 and 170 pounds, is now is asked to contact the North Idaho Violent Crimes Task Force (208) 665-1471.

Reward money is available. Tipsters can remain anonymous.

Radden is one of several people wanted on a felony warrant spotlighted this week by the Kootenai County Sheriff's Department. Read more at Dave Oliveria's Huckleberries blog.

Fugitive assailant may be in CdA area

A fugitive wanted for failing to check in with the Idaho Department of Corrections may be in the Coeur d'Alene area.

Bonner County authorities say Grant “Bear” Timothy Larson, 31 (left), is possibly at a motel with friend Rok Tugmother Bass, 33 (below), and a woman identified only as Amanda.

They no longer believe Larson is with Marie Thompson, who they said last week may have been traveling with the fugitive to Canada

. The North Idaho Violent Crimes Task Force released updated information today based on tips.

Larson, 5-foot-7 and 210 pounds, has numerous tattoos, including “savage” and “oso tight” on his neck.

He was convicted of third-degree assault in king County in December and allowed to move to Idaho, but he didn't check in with authorities as required. Now he's wanted for escape from community custody. He's also wanted on assault and battery charges from 2008.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the task force at (208) 666-5747 or the Bonner County Dispatch at (208) 265-5525.

Task force links Idaho duo to 13 crimes

A North Idaho law enforcement task force has connected 13 crimes to two people in what authorities describe as a large stolen property investigation.

Justin Lee Christian, 39, of Kellogg, and Amanda Dawn Erickson, 24, of Coeur d’Alene, are in the Kootenai County Jail on more than 25 felony charges.

The North Idaho Violent Crimes Task Force served several search warrants earlier this month that recovered stolen TVs, video games consoles, power tools, clothes, check books, credit cards and other stolen property.

The two are charged with thefts at a Phones Plus store and at the Wal-Marts in Post Falls and Hayden.

Christian faces seven counts of burglary, six counts of fraudulent use of a financial transaction card and single counts of felon in possession of a firearm, possession of meth and possession of stolen property.

Erickson is charged with possession of stolen property, four counts of burglary and four counts of fraudulent use of financial transaction card.

Man wanted for assault with vodka bottle

The FBI is asking for help finding a man who may be in Coeur d’Alene but is wanted for assault in Missouri.

Trenton Michael Faulkner, 20, is accused of hitting a man in the head with a bottle of vodka after being asked to leave a home in Ashland, Mo., in June 2008, according to the Boone County Sheriff’s Department.

Faulkner was arrested, but he hasn’t showed up for his court dates and was last known to be living in the Lake City, according to the FBI and North Idaho Violent Crimes Task Force.

A reward is offered for information that helps arrest Faulkner. Anyone with information is asked to call (208) 665-1471. Tipsters will remain confidential.
