The risk re: online searches for people you knew
I'm sure I have mentioned this before.
But it remains depressingly true.
Sometimes Googling someone you knew long ago presents you with that person's obituary.
Case in point. I knew Jon Hicks when we worked together in Tucson.
He was an outsized personality. But I liked him.
I went to his wedding in Washington, D.C. I went to spend a weekend with him when he lived in Cleveland.
And for a while, we sort of kept in touch,
But I think we spoke just a couple of times after I moved to Spokane.
I was sorry to see this.
