The Slice

Is this appropriate for the newspaper?

You make the call.

"I'm not sure if this is necessarily appropriate for the newspaper, but reading (Friday's) 'couldn't stop laughing' story about a wedding made me think of this," wrote Jeff Watson.

"When my wife and I were in graduate school, we and several of our grad school friends traveled to the wedding of two of our friends (also grad students). Beautiful old church, solemn sort of wedding, and near the end the pastor said, 'And now, (bride and groom) will light the love candle.'

"All of us from school looked at each other in disbelief, until a friend murmured, 'Right here in the church?'

"We laughed so hard and yet so quietly. My wife and I still laugh about it 20 years later."
