The Slice

As time goes by

My friend John Kafentzis emailed me this observation.

"Do you realize that in just a few years the newspaper will stop receiving letters complaining about how our coverage of the anniversary of D-Day or Pearl Harbor just didn't measure up?"

Sad but true.

John had seen a letter today in which a reader said he had scoured the June 6 edition for something about D-Day and found nothing. Apparently his scouring did not include reading the Slice question. No matter.

The thing is, the coverage of these anniversaries often appears the day after, as it did in the SR this week. You know, when there is something new to report.
