The Slice

Today’s babysitter story

Cathy McCoy of Addy, Wash., shared this.

"I walked into my babysitter's house to my toddler lying on a bed screaming. She was burning up, her ear was red and she was pulling at it.

"The babysitter said that she had been like that all afternoon. She had a severe ear infection.

"When I asked the babysitter why she had not called me, she said that she didn't want to bother me at work. I guess she didn't think seeing my daughter like that would bother me. I was so mad that I didn't pay her for that day and I never took my child back to her."
