The Slice

An MRI can be made endurable

I don't know how many times I have intimated that an MRI test is an unpleasant ordeal.

But it's a lot.

So I sort of feel an obligation to set the record straight.

If you have serious claustrophobia issues, have them sedate you before the exam.

You have to arrange that in advance. But it really works.

After my first MRI decades ago (shoulder problem), I said I would rather live with whatever the problem is than undergo that procedure again.

That was a dumb thing to say. Don't let fear and anxiety keep you from getting this potentially valuable test.
