The Slice

“Houston, I’m going to step off the LEM”

Have you ever watched a preschooler emerge from a minivan?

Of course, you have. We all have.

Some of them bolt out of the vehicle. But others are so careful and tentative, it makes me wonder what they are thinking.

"Does this Rosauers parking lot have an atmosphere that can sustain life?"

Though most intrepid explorers don't have to hear their impatient mom imploring them, "C'monnnn."

But when you are at an age where you imagine that every step might be your last, it probably pays to be careful.
