Women and the Indianapolis 500

I have never met a woman who had an intense interest in the Indianapolis 500 when she was a girl.

I'm not saying there aren't such women. I just haven't met one.

On the other hand, it's not unusual to find men who were really into the race as boys (and maybe still are).

I thought the 500 was thrilling back when I was about 10. I think I actually listened to it on radio. Can you imagine?

I don't mean this as an indictment of auto racing, but maybe girls were simply smarter.
