No. 1 album this week in 1969

How well do you know your CCR?,com

My first editor once wondered aloud what the Lodi Chamber of Commerce thought of one of the songs on this album.

If you want, when singing along, you can replace “Lodi” with other two-syllable city names.

CCR lyrics as potential Spokane slogans

You pick.

A) “I ain't no senator's son.”

B) “Hope you got your things together.”

C) “Well, take me back down where cool water flow, yeah.”

D) “Gonna chase tomorrow…tonight.”

E) “I'll be walkin' if I go.”

F) “Good men through the ages tryin' to find the sun.”

G) “Come on, come on, won't you get me to my room.”

H) “Someday never comes.”

I) “Don't go walkin' slow, the devil's on the loose.”

J) “Look at all the happy creatures dancing on the lawn.”
