As several readers courteously noted, “The Big Lebowski” came about 15 years ago, not 25 as I said in print the other day.
I have an idea how I got confused about this. But it remains a forehead-slapper nonetheless.
I will, of course, note this in print at my first opportunity. But that won't show up for four days. So I wanted to acknowledge my idiocy here.
Try entering: “The Big Lebowski” “not a marmot”
Just like that. Both at the same time, quote marks included.
Leads to some valuable discussions and a fine reminder that some have a true gift for wasting time.

Will cult worshippers of “The Big Lebowski” arrive in costume if they attend John Fogerty's local appearance next month?

If this makes no sense to you, don't worry. There is every chance that you can still go on to lead a happy, productive life.
I have been fortunate enough to be invited to a birthday party that has as its theme the 1998 cult favorite, “The Big Lebowski.”
Should I elect to go in costume, here are some of the choices: The Dude, Walter, Donny, The Big Lebowski, Brandt, Nihilist No. 3, Jesus Quintana, Liam, The Stranger, Jackie Treehorn, Malibu Police Chief, Arthur Digby Sellers, Larry Sellers, Da Fino, the funeral director and the cab driver who likes The Eagles.
Assuming you have at least some idea of what we're talking about here, which would you pick?
