New church off to a good start

Pastor David Von reports that things are off to a great start at the new Emmaus Church at 12th and Perry. Services started September 12 and attendance has been increasing weekly with many neighborhood folks joining the services. Services are 10:03 every Sunday and all are welcome. Emmaus is also kicking off its new food bank on November 6th with a free pancake breakfast from 9-11 am. There will also be boxes of food for those in need. And I’m sure donations will be welcome. The plan is to open the food bank on the first Saturday of each month. David can be reached via email at: info@emmausspokane.com

About this blog

Welcome to the South Perry neighborhood blog. My name is Pia Hallenberg and I’ve worked as a journalist in Spokane since the fall of 1998; for the last four years I’ve lived on South Perry Street.

I love the neighborhood so when time came to pick an area for The Spokesman-Review’s first neighborhood blog, the choice was simple: South Perry is where it’s at.
