Spring clean up on Perry

Since writing a story about the cleanup of the Pittsburg Stairs, the blog has heard from almost two dozen people interested in helping with neighborhood cleanup. This may be just the opportunity you're all looking for: On Saturday April 30, from 10 a.m. to noon, the South Perry Neighborhood together with the East Central Neighborhood Council will have a clean up day. Meet at the Gazebo in Grant Park; residents may pick up  $20 dump passes (first come, first served) starting at 9 a.m.
Bring gloves and garbage bags, rakes and brooms, and your neighborhood spirit.

About this blog

Welcome to the South Perry neighborhood blog. My name is Pia Hallenberg and I’ve worked as a journalist in Spokane since the fall of 1998; for the last four years I’ve lived on South Perry Street.

I love the neighborhood so when time came to pick an area for The Spokesman-Review’s first neighborhood blog, the choice was simple: South Perry is where it’s at.
