Since this story about COPS East Central and their need for a new address ran a couple of weeks ago, a buyer has comforward and purchased the little building on East Fifth Avenue. Long-time volunteer Sue Hille wrote in an email that the new owner will let the COPS Shop stay for the same low rent as it's always paid.
Sounds like great news to the blog!
The blog is straying a little bit today, but I’d like to share the newsletter (PDF) from One World Spokane with you. The restaurant is located at 1804 East Sprague in the heart of the International District. It features organic, local food and right now also cookbooks for $12.50 a piece - proceeds go to the restaurant. One World features a unique concept: you let them know how much food you’d like and where there is a recommended price, you pay what you can. You can also volunteer with the restaurant and earn your way to a meal. If you haven’t stopped by yet, give it a try.

The blog is taking a little roadtrip Thursday morning, setting up shop at The Flying Pig on East Sprague. That area is also known as the International District and it’s part of Girls Day Out on November 13, together with Hillyard, Garland and Monroe business districts. As always this is an open invitation to come in and say hello - the blog should be in position around 8.
