Spin Control

Another salvo in the ad wars

Must be time to changeup the ads in the governor’s race. Both Chris Gregoire’s and Dino Rossi’s campaigns released new commercials today, and both are connected to The Spokesman-Review.

Who knew the paper was so important in the political realms?

Gregoire’s bragging about endorsements from newspapers that are backing her this year but didn’t in ‘04. (It features The Spokesman-Review rather prominently, although she avoids the discussion from the Seattle area blogs about how conservative The S-R’s editorial page is.)

Rossi’s commercial warns of tax increases should Gregoire get re-elected, and cites her conversation with the newspaper’s editorial board about the prospects for a state income tax.

Both are coming soon to a television near you. If you can’t wait, click here to go inside the blog to see them.
