Cell tower moratorium discussion tonight

Following last week's City Council decision to place a six-month moratorium on cell phone tower construction in Spokane, a noted land-use attorney is in town tonight to publicly discuss the issue.

Dave Bricklin, a Seattle attorney, will speak at the Woman's Club, 1428 West 9th Avenue, beginning at 7 pm tonight. Bricklin advised residents of the Cliff-Cannon neighborhood during their fight to stop a 60-foot tower from being erected at 811 W. 15th Ave. on the South Hill.

It's not the first time residents of a Spokane neighborhood attempted to block cell tower development. In January, people living in the Grandview-Thorpe neighborhood saw their efforts to stop a tower go largely ignored by city staff.
