WaLeg Day 74: Tuition, transportation on tap

OLYMPIA -- A busy committee hearing day today with some big Senate initiatives getting an airing in House committees.

The Senate transportation package, with its 11.7 cent gas tax and a long list of projects (including the North Spokane Corridor/North-South Freeway/We-don't-care-what-you-call-it-if-you-just-finish-it) gets a hearing in the House Transpo Committee.

The Senate proposal to cut college tuition to a percentage of the state's average wage gets a skeptical hearing in the House Higher Education Committee.
