Study: 6 in 10 minimum wage workers in WA and ID are women

About six of every 10 minimum wage workers in Washington and Idaho are women, a study by the National Women's Law Center says.

That's not the worst, or the best rate in the study. Some states are about equally split between men and women, while in a few states, about three-fourths of those receiving the minimum wage are women.

The amount they receive, also varies from state to state, as it does in the Northwest. In Idaho, the minimum wage is set at the national standard of $7.25, while in Washington, it's $9.47 statewide, annually adjusted for inflation, and in some cities like Seattle (or SeaTac, which somehow missed the law center's attention) it's higher.
