Spec Sess Day 5: All quiet on the western front
OLYMPIA -- Very little to see Monday as the Legislature starts the week and the fifth day of its Special Session.
Some legislators met with Gov. Jay Inslee in the morning, and sources said budget offers were exchanged over the weekend. But the House went "at ease" shortly after convening at 10 a.m. and the Senate came and went quickly at noon, and is scheduled to be back until Wednesday.
There are no committee hearings on the schedule Monday or Tuesday.
First scheduled committee hearing is Wednesday morning, when the Senate Law and Justice Committee expects to bring in more witnesses for its investigation into the early release of inmates by the Department of Corrections.
