Brush fire update

There is a little bit more information available on yesterday's brush fire near Saltese Road and Sullivan. The fire was about 100 feet by 50 feet when firefighters arrived, then blowing embers ignited a second fire about 100 yards away, said Spokane Valley Fire Department assistant fire marshal Bill Clifford. The department was assisted by the Department of Natural Resources and the Bureau of Land Management in putting out the fire.

Clifford said that witnesses saw three teenage boys in the area just before the fire started. Anyone with information on the fire is asked to call the department at 928-1700.
