Plans afoot for a new fire station in Newman Lake

Get Adobe Flash player

I took a drive out to Newman Lake last night for a special community meeting to get input on plans to build an new fire station on land the Newman Lake Fire District owns at Starr and Moffat. There was a good turn out. The old Station 1 on West Newman Lake Road is old and too small. The fire engines barely fit inside and on one support column you can see where repeated hits from the engine side mirrors have gouged chuncks out of the concrete. I'll have more details in a story in Thursday's Valley Voice, but until then you can look at a few pictures of the current station that I took on my cell phone.
