A home at at 12611 N. East Newman Lake Drive was destroyed by fire shortly after 1 a.m. Tuesday morning. The three people inside when the fire began were able to evacuate safety, said Spokane Valley Fire Department Assistant Fire Marshal Bill Clifford. Valley Fire sent two trucks, a battalion chief and a fire investigator to the scene under a mutual aid agreement with Newman Lake Fire District 13. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
