Streets being swept in Spokane Valley

The city of Spokane Valley has begun its fall street sweeping. Sweepers will be at work during daylight hours (weather permitting) in priority zones 1 and 2, which are all located south of Sprague Ave. Arterials will also be cleaned. A map and more additional details are on the city's web site here. The primary reason for sweeping certain areas that have a large number of trees is to clean up debris that can clog storm drains. But that doesn't mean residents can rake their leaves or pine needles into the street. Homeowners are responsible for disposing of their yard debris.
