Field woes haunt baseball

Spent last week basking in the California sun watching my daughter pitch for Central Washington in the annual softball Mizuno Tournament of Champions in Turlock while weather continued to play havoc with Greater Spokane League sports.

That means I get to see some interesting games on tap, although today’s University-Central Valley contest was postponed. The two league unbeatens are scheduled for a Wednesday doubleheader beginning at CV at 1 p.m. The Titans also travel to Ferris on Thursday.

Other games of interest are two between North Central and Mead, Thursday’s CV-Mead makeup and a Friday 1 p.m. game between the home-standing Panthers and Rogers.

Hopefully today is an indication that spring has finally sprung.
