Gilliam named Defensive Player of the Week

After three interceptions in his arenafootball2 league debut, Spokane Shock defensive back Sergio Gilliam was named the league's Defensive Player of the Week, the league announced. Here's a link to the release.

I sat down with Gilliam today at the Shock practice facility for a feature I'm working on for Thursday's paper, so stay tuned. The Shock (1-0) open the home portion of their 2008 regular season schedule Saturday at the Arena.
