Let’s see, a night off. How about a basketball game?

COUGARS

Learned two things Monday night while sitting in the stands with Kim and watching the women’s regional title game in the Arena: There sure is a lot of traveling that doesn’t get whistled; and there are a lot of guys on press row going bald (one less because I wasn’t there).

Talk about opening one’s mind to the possibilities of a night off. We head to the Arena, watch women’s hoop and go home for some cold Chinese food. On or off the beat, sports writers lead a glamorous lifestyle. And, I forgot, I fielded a call during the game with the momentous news that no other school besides Indiana has asked for permission to talk with Tony Bennett. Yes, glamorous.
