Zags scorch WSU in second half
On Washington State's first possession of the second half, Cougars center Aron Baynes powered inside and scored over Josh Heytvelt.
The bucket trimmed Gonzaga's lead to 32-31 and seemed to indicate that the second half was going to produce another tight, tough contest between the two rivals.
Gonzaga had other ideas. The Bulldogs answered with 15 unanswered points, nine in roughly 75 seconds. GU went on a stunning 39-7 run and cruised to a 74-52 victory Wednesday.
