EWU’s Peach earns Buchanan

Eastern Washington Greg Peach, a senior defensive end out of Evergreen High School in Vancouver, was honored Thursday night in Chattanooga, Tenn., as the recipient of the Buck Buchanan Award given annually to the nation's top defensive player in teh NCAA Football Championship Subdivision.

This is as good as it gets for a defensive player at the FCS level, and a nice honor for the Eagles program, as well.  You can read more details from the EWU sports information department here, and check back later tonight for an early look at the story I'm putting together for Friday morning's S-R.

I just got off the phone with Greg, who is set to start celebrating with his parents and Eagles head coach Beau Baldwin back in Chattanooga.
