Zags roll past Pepperdine

Gonzaga moved back into a tie for first place in the West Coast Conference with a 101-59 rout of Pepperdine on Saturday at the McCarthey Athletic Center.

The Bulldogs (18-6, 7-1) are tied with Saint Mary's (20-3, 7-1) atop the WCC. San Diego is 6-1 heading into a Monday night game against San Francisco.

Jeremy Pargo had his third career double-double (13 points, 12 assists) and his second this season. Micah Downs, coming off two scoreless games, poured in 18 points in 16 minutes and Austin Daye had 17 points in 18 minutes. Daye, who had nine rebounds, narrowly missed a double-double.

The Zags led 47-28 at half and cruised in the second half.

It was GU's second rout of Pepperdine this season. Gonzaga won 92-57 in Malibu last month.
